Welcome to Exploratory Studies!  With over 200 majors offered at Purdue University, finding the right one can be a challenge. In Exploratory Studies, we can help you make an informed decision about your future.

Statistically, college students often change their majors. Rather than beginning in one major, only to discover later that it is not the right fit for you, why not begin exploring with us? Our knowledgeable staff of academic advisors will partner with you to develop a plan which includes taking courses that fit into multiple majors simultaneously. Therefore, once you have selected your major, you can transition into that program without having spent time in courses that do not apply.

How do we do this? The academic advisors in Exploratory Studies offer advising unique to each student. Students will work with their advisors to identify interests, values, skills, educational goals, and career objectives. Together, you will explore the possibilities at Purdue and find the one that fits you and your goals best.

Through learning more about yourself, Purdue majors, and the world of work, you can begin your college career on the right path and graduate in a timely manner. Our historical data shows that 88% of Exploratory Students who complete college do not change their mind once they have declared a major.
