Academic Year Temporary Regional Campus Transfer

Students seeking a degree at Purdue West Lafayette who plan to enroll at a Regional Purdue Campus on a temporary basis for fall or spring may be eligible to receive Federal financial aid through Purdue University.

All fee dedicated aid, such as CVO fee remissions and staff dependent fee remissions, will be processed by the Regional Campus you will be attending. If a separate application and/or documentation is required, it must be submitted to the Regional Campus. 

Requirements

Students temporarily attending a Regional Campus are ONLY eligible for Federal financial aid. 

  • Federal Pell Grant (if eligible) 
  • Federal Direct Loan 
  • Federal Parent/Graduate PLUS Loan (separate application required) 

At least half-time enrollment is required for the use of Federal Direct and PLUS Loans. 

  • For undergraduate students, at least 6 credit hours is half-time. 
  • For graduate and professional students, at least 4 credit hours is half-time. 

All students must have the following information on file before aid can be processed 

  • A 2024-25 FAFSA, unless only private loans will be utilized 
  • Any documentation required to complete the 2024-25 FAFSA file. The Division of Financial Aid (DFA) will notify students of any requests for additional information, such as a student or parent tax return transcript. Do not submit information to DFA unless requested to do so by our office. 
  • A Regional Campus Temporary Transfer Aid Application completed and signed by both the student and PWL academic advisor (see link below under “Other Important Information”) 
  • Ensure you have completed the correct Intercampus TEMPORARY Transfer Admissions application at the Regional Campus you plan to attend for Fall or Spring.

Other Important Information

  • You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. 
  • Financial aid is based on the number of credit hours in which a student is enrolled and has initiated course participation as of the end of the sixth week of classes. Check out more information about initial course participation
  • The process to receive financial aid as a PWL Temporary Regional Campus transfer student can take 4 to 6 weeks once the application is submitted. Financial aid will be disbursed to the student, and the student is responsible for paying the host institution (Regional Campus) with the financial aid refund they receive.

**At any time a student changes enrollment while temporarily attending a Regional Campus and is receiving aid for that attendance through Purdue West Lafayette Campus, the student is responsibleto notify both Financial Aid offices of that enrollment change.** 

Once available, download and complete the Regional Campus Temporary Transfer Aid Application. Return the completed and signed application to the Division of Financial Aid at Purdue West Lafayette. Processing will take approximately 4-6 weeks from the time our office receives the application.
