University Street, Hawkins Hall parking garage closures scheduled May-August

Part of the University Street Parking Garage (PGU) and all of the Hawkins Hall Parking Garage will be closed from May 13 to mid-August while maintenance work is performed.

South half of University Street Parking Garage

The south half of PGU will close in phases with initial impacts to levels four, five and six from May 13 to late-June. All entrances and exits will be maintained through the third level during that time.

The top tiers will reopen at the end of June, and the following areas will then close through mid-August: levels one, two, three, part of four and the south entrance and exit. Motorists can utilize the top levels of the south half of the garage by entering and exiting from the northern half while this phase of work continues.

Both underground levels of the garage and the top level surface lot will close for the duration of the summer. The loading docks at the Krannert Building and Young Hall will be maintained, with the exception of each one closing for approximately 7-10 days during the scheduled work.

Special parking permits

Parking and Transportation Services will communicate alternate parking arrangements during the closures directly to those with special permits in the coming days. Affected individuals with special parking concerns should contact (765) 494-9497 if they have not received alternate arrangements by Friday, May 3.

Motorists should use caution, seek alternate parking and obey all posted signs.
