Services
Shop Rates
Shop rates are used to assign labor costs to work performed by hourly employees for departmental and campus customers.
Custodial
Custodians provide cleaning services that include floor maintenance and general cleaning. They also refresh/restock restrooms daily, collect office/desk-side recycling twice a week and collect all other trash and recycling daily.
Building inspections are completed in all campus spaces on a routine basis. For more information on this process, download the APPA Guidelines & Building Inspections below.
Carpet Crew
The Carpet Crew cleans wall and floor coverings, as well as fabric wall dividers and upholstery upon request. Email requests to Building Services at bldg-svcs@purdue.edu.
Lock/Unlock Requests
Building Services personnel assist with campus security by locking and unlocking specified interior and exterior doors at regularly scheduled times. Lock and unlock requests for events that fall outside of the standard schedule should be submitted to the facility’s building deputy.
Light Bulbs
Custodians replace standard incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs in fixtures that can be safely reached using a 6-foot ladder. Please contact your building deputy for lights that exceed this reach or those that require specialized bulbs or tools.
Snow Removal
Building Services removes snow from building entrances, ramps, steps and sidewalks immediately adjacent to buildings. Please contact Grounds regarding snow removal from loading docks, parking areas and main sidewalks.
