Registering for BGR
Registration for BGR in Indianapolis is now open, and new students may register via the myPurdue portal.
Your student account will be billed for the BGR program fee of $375. You are not expected to pay the fee at the time of registration. Payment is recommended by July 31. Payment is due alongside Tuition and Fees at the start of the semester. Once you have registered you will receive a registration confirmation email.
Only students who have accepted their offer of admission to Purdue will be able to register for BGR in Indianapolis. The deadline for registering for BGR is July 31, 2024, though exceptions may be made for students who are admitted to the university after this date.
BGR Fee Waivers
A limited number of need-based waivers are available to cover all or half of the $375 fee. New students can find the link to the BGR Fee Waiver Application, and details on how to apply, on the New Student Task List in their MyPurdue portal.
Students applying for a fee waiver must register for BGR first for their application to be fully considered. The BGR Fee Waiver Application will close on July 31. Decisions are made and emailed to students on a rolling basis throughout the entire summer. All BGR Fee waivers will show on your student account the beginning of August when Fall assessment for tuition and fees occurs.
Refunds
If you request a refund before the cutoff date, you are eligible to receive your full refund. The refund schedule is as follows:
- Through July 31: Full refund of $375
- Aug. 1 and later: No refund
You must cancel your BGR registration to generate the refund or fee remission (in accordance with these dates). If you do not pay the registration fee at the time of registration and then cancel your BGR registration after the full refund date, you will still be responsible for the registration fee.
Students with Disabilities
Purdue University is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive campus community and offers numerous resources to students and visitors who may need additional assistance while attending, visiting and/or working for the University. We encourage students with disabilities to contact the Disability Resource Center (DRC) as soon as possible so that we may develop plans with you to provide you the best access. Please contact the DRC before BGR begins at 765-494-1247 or email drc@purdue.edu and identify that you are participating in Boiler Gold Rush. If during your BGR experience you discover an unforeseen barrier to your participation, please alert your BGR Team Leader. We take accessibility seriously and welcome your input.
Accessibility / Sensory Guide
Purdue Orientation Programs has created a custom "Sensory Guide" for all students attending BGR in Indianapolis. The purpose of the guide is to help students with neurodiversity needs navigate the BGR environment in a safe and comfortable way.
This sensory guide gives a list of all events taking place during BGR that may pose some level of accessibility issue or sensory overload for a student. This includes events with loud noises, flashing lights, large amounts of physical movement, and more.
Many events with sensory warnings provide the option of an alternative event, which occurs at the same time. Alternate events include virtual viewings of the event, separate smaller events, or other accessible BGR opportunities. All students will receive a copy of the Sensory Guide when they arrive to campus.
