Purdue Advising

Student’s interests grow and change and it’s important that academic advisors know how a student’s goals have changed to better assist them in their individual progress. This is why all students have an Academic Advisor. Student’s meet with their advisor at least twice a year for academic planning. These appointments will also be where students discuss the classes to take for the next semester.

You may have worked with a school counselor in high school. Working with your academic advisor will be different from a school counselor. One of the main differences is you, the student. Students are now in control of their education. While you are now in control of your education and experiences at Purdue, part of being a great Boilermaker is knowing when to ask for help and to do so when it’s needed.  Your academic advisor is one of your best resources on campus.

Purdue Advising is the second step in your All Aboard Purdue orientation process.Shortly after completing the Student Information Form (SIF); which is located in the "Finishing Purdue 101" content area, you will receive an email to your Purdue email address from an academic advisor requesting you to schedule an appointment in our Student Success and Scheduling platform, BoilerConnect.
