What is Purdue 101?

Purdue 101 is our required online orientation program for all new undergraduate students. This program takes place in Brightspace, a system where you will see all of your course information each semester.

Purdue 101 Program Details

Purdue 101 officially begins your orientation experience. This self-guided orientation module is located online in Brightspace. To access Purdue 101, select "Purdue 101" from your list of Brightspace courses, and begin. Access to this section begins on October 16 for all Spring beginners. You must complete this online module, which focuses on preparing you for academic experience at Purdue. Students are highly encouraged to finish Purdue 101 as soon as possible.

Fully completing Purdue 101 opens access to scheduling your academic advising appointment. Once you have finished the online modules in Purdue 101, an academic advisor will send an introductory email with directions on how to schedule your first advising appointment. Meeting with your advisor is an important step in your Boilermaker journey. One of the things you will do in this appointment is talk through course options and how to register for your first semester of classes. Be on the lookout for that message in your Purdue email account for further instruction.

Please contact us via email at studentsuccess@purdue.edu if you have any questions.

Completing Purdue 101

Students are automatically enrolled in Purdue 101 after they accept their offer of admission. You can complete Purdue 101 at any pace, but you must complete it to meet with your academic advisor. Once completed, students will be prompted to fill out their Student Information Form (SIF) which will alert an academic advisor to the student’s completion of Purdue 101.

Academic Advisors will then reach out to students with availability to set up a virtual advising appointment, where they will work with students to preference their fall courses. Make sure to schedule your appointment from numerous weeks of availability as soon as possible to secure your time accordingly.
