When students can learn, work, research and build professional networks in the same place, the impact of a college education changes for the better.
That idea is at the heart of Purdue’s growth in Indianapolis, and it represents a renewal of our founding land-grant commitment to put practical knowledge to work for the people and economy of Indiana. While our state’s workforce needs have evolved since the 19th century, our mission has not. Fulfilling those needs means meeting students and employers where they are, and that’s in the heart of our capital city.
In my recent IBJ guest column, I share how we are building a modern land-grant model that pairs Purdue’s academic rigor with the industries, innovation and civic energy shaping Indiana’s future.
