A great time at the Student Farm Banquet last Thursday. Eighty students in attendance from department, college, and beyond. Student-created recipes. Student-prepared food. Huge thanks to chef Darcy Smink for leadership and kitchen space. Kudos to Natalia Rodriguez and the Purdue Student Farm Organization for planning and running a great evening!

The 2022 Small Farm Education Field Day was held earlier today, Friday, July 29, at the Purdue Student Farm. On Thursday, June 2, Lori Hoagland, Karen Mitchell with Nathan Shoaf (Purdue Extension/Urban Agriculture Program) partnered with SWCD’s Urban Soil Health Director, Elli Blaine, to host the “Get the Dirt: Urban Soil Health Conference” for over 100 participants. The conference was followed by a farm tour and dinner at Maple Hill Farm in West Point.




On March 18, Petrus Langenhoven and Chris Adair participated in a Soil Health in High Tunnels webinar series  hosted by the Indiana Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts. Petrus Langenhoven talked about ‘Pepper Production and Soil Health in High Tunnels‘ and Chris Adair shared information about ‘High Tunnel Crop Rotation and Cover Cropping‘.
