Celina Gomez gave a talk on Tuesday at the “Workshop on Advancing Controlled Environment Agriculture on Land and in Space in the Next 20 Years” co-organized by the USDA, DOE, and NASA. Her talk was focused on describing breeding priorities to produce compact fruiting vegetables indoors.
This week Dr. Kathryn Orvis and Vicki Stirm hosted sessions for the 4-H Round Up. There were fourteen students (from various counties in Indiana), two chaperones, and one Youth Ambassador. The session was titled “Inside Out Plants,” which included a scavenger hunt in the Jules Janick Horticulture Garden, followed by flower dissections in the classroom.
