Indianapolis Campus Daily Crime Log
In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act) the Purdue University Police Department (PUPD) maintains a Daily Crime Log for the Indianapolis campus.
The Daily Crime Log documents all crimes reported to PUPD, the date and time the crimes occurred, the date and time the crime was reported, the general location and an initial disposition.
The Daily Crime Log is available for inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the Dean of Students, 520 Indiana Avenue, Indianapolis, IN on the Purdue University in Indianapolis campus. Daily Crime Log information older than 60 days is available within two business days of a request for public inspection. The most recent crime log entries are posted below.
Understanding how the information in the log is collected and compiled is important to developing an accurate picture of campus crime.
Most of these crimes are reported to the Indiana University Police Department - Indianapolis, which provides police services for Purdue University in Indianapolis. Reports are shared with PUPD for documentation. Some of these reports come from other local law enforcement agencies where Purdue owns or controls property or from university employees who have been identified by the Vice President for Ethics and Compliance (VPEC) as Campus Security Authorities (CSAs). CSAs are obligated to report certain crimes to the university police department so the campus community may be notified of potential, ongoing public safety issues and accurate statistics maintained. Not all of these crimes have been reported to the police department for the purpose of police services. Many of these crime victims do not want immediate police intervention and may elect not to pursue a criminal investigation but all reported crimes on Clery Act geography will be added to the Daily Crime Log.
