Professional Development Day

Student being coached by a Strengths Champion at Professional Development Day

Professional Development Day is one of LEAD’s signature events, designed to give Purdue students an integrated, multi-component experience focused on career readiness and professional identity development. The program is traditionally structured as a half-day, 'come as your schedule allows' event where participants can receive 1-on-1 coaching, refine career materials with expert support, attend workshops to develop specific skills, and gain exclusive insights from alumni. The afternoon concludes with a time to network with one another. It’s a chance to leverage your Purdue experience and build a competitive advantage for your future career.

Examples of past Professional Development Day workshops include:

  • “Addressing Networking Anxiety”
  • “Authentic and Professional, = or ≠ ?”
  • “Start Smart: Salary Negotiation”
  • “Strengths: What I Do Best”

This event is held in February at Krach Leadership Center (West Lafayette) from 3:00pm-7:30pm.

We partner with the On-Campus Writing Lab (OWL) and Strengths Champions program to make this event possible.
