Lesson Overview:

 Students create a wind turbine that will be able to give clean power to at least 400 homes!

Lesson Scenario:

 The federal government has opened the door for offshore wind farms in our area.  Your company has been awarded the contract to design and install the wind farm off the coast of Maryland to serve 400,000 homes in the Delmarva region. 

Lesson or Unit Objectives:

 Students will be able to:

    • Work as a team and compete against another table to help design the best offshore wind turbine for use off Ocean City.

    • Work efficiently to collect your data and be willing to test your final product within 45 minutes.

    • Test their design and see how many of that blade would be best.

    • Share and collect data from the rest of the class to build the best wind turbine

Age Level or Subject:

    • Grade 9-12, Earth and Space Sciences, AP, Engineering Design, Technology, 3D Printing
