Obtaining COVID-19 Essential Supplies

All units, departments, colleges, schools and research groups should order COVID-19 essential supplies through regular purchasing methods using Ariba catalog suppliers or from a Fisher Scientific campus storeroom.

Essential supplies include the following:

  • Face masks
  • N95 and KN95 masks
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Surface disinfectant
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Ethanol
  • Alcohol
  • Anti-fog spray
  • Anti-fog wipes
  • Low lint wipes
  • Face shields
    • All face shields should be obtained through Fisher Scientific storerooms.

Costs will be assessed to the ordering department, and Ariba orders will be shipped and delivered to the recipient.

Fisher Scientific – a contracted scientific and laboratory supply vendor with Purdue – will regularly stock essential supplies and research-specific items at their two West Lafayette campus storerooms, which are provided below. Products may be limited or temporarily unavailable due to inventory levels and demand.

All COVID-19 supply purchases should be tracked using COVID-IO processes.

If an item is not available from one of the options listed above, then a request should be submitted to Procurement Services at purchasingrequest@purdue.edu. The request should contain as much detailed information as possible, including quantity and product specifications.

  • Costs will be assessed to the ordering department, and orders will be shipped and delivered to the recipient.
  • Additionally, Fisher Scientific will regularly stock essential supplies and research-specific items at their two West Lafayette campus storerooms.
What items are currently available?
  • The items currently available include face masks, N95 and KN95 masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectant sprays and wipes. The availability of stock changes regularly. More information on the types of essential supplies available and where to obtain them can be found above.
  • If the item is not available from one of the locations outlined above, then a request should be submitted to Procurement Services at purchasingrequest@purdue.edu. The request should contain as much detailed information as possible, including quantity and product specifications.
  • Units, departments, colleges, schools and research groups are encouraged to coordinate their orders to avoid overlapping requests.

Where are the Fisher Scientific storerooms located on campus?

  • Fisher Scientific storerooms are located in Lilly Hall of Life Sciences (LILY) and Wetherill Laboratory of Chemistry (WTHR). Supplies may be purchased on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with no pre-ordering required.

How will departments be billed for essential supplies?

What if my department purchases these supplies for non-COVID related purposes and the products are now limited or unavailable through typical methods?
