Steps to Leaps recognizes annual award winners

The Steps to Leaps steering committee recognized award winners at the Steps to Leaps Summit, held March 22 at Beck Agricultural Center. Purdue President Mung Chiang and Provost Patrick Wolfe were on hand to recognize award winners. Steps to Leaps is a collaborative, campuswide effort focused on enhancing and promoting holistic well-being. Read more.

Now's the time to Think Summer 

It's not too late to apply for summer financial aid. As long as your student has completed the 2023-2024 FAFSA, encourage them to apply for summer aid in their myPurdue portal. More information about summer aid can be viewed here. Students can also register for classes until they begin or space fills, whatever occurs first. Questions about summer enrollment can be sent to thinksummer@purdue.edu.  

Purdue launches Purdue Mobile ID for students, allowing them to get around campus with just a simple tap of their mobile device

Purdue launched Purdue Mobile ID on Wednesday, April 19,  for students to add their official Purdue identification to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and use iPhones, Apple Watches or Android devices to conveniently and securely access campus buildings, purchase meals and more.

Did you know there is a Purdue podcast that makes learning about campus resources quick and easy? Each episode is no more than 10 minutes long and covers the essential information of an important campus resource. Mental Health Month encourages individuals to look around, look within

May has been observed as Mental Health Month since 1949 by Mental Health America and its affiliates. This year, MHA encourages individuals to “look around and look within” to acknowledge the many factors that come into play regarding mental health, including neighborhood, environment, genetics and more. 

According to MHA, the conditions of where a person is born, lives, learns, works, plays and gathers, as well as their economic stability and social connections, are part of what is called “social determinants of health.” The more these factors work in a person’s favor, the more likely the person is to have better mental well-being. However, when it seems like the world is working against a person, their mental health can suffer. Read more.

Purdue Class of 2023 to celebrate spring commencement during nine ceremonies May 12-14

Purdue University students will commemorate their success and be recognized for their persistent pursuit at 2023 Spring Commencement ceremonies May 12-14. There will be nine ceremonies, all in Elliott Hall of Music on Purdue’s campus. President Mung Chiang will address undergraduates for the first time at this year’s spring ceremonies. Kathleen Howell, Purdue’s Hsu Lo Distinguished Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics, will provide the keynote for the graduate student ceremony. Read more.

Alumni or Graduation Gift: A Book that Commemorates the History of Purdue's Fraternity, Sorority, and Cooperative Life Community 

A new book, "Pledge and Promise: Celebrating the Bond and Heritage of Fraternity, Sorority and Cooperative Life at Purdue University," by author Angie Klink, is now available for purchase through Hall of Music Productions. The book commemorates the rich history of Purdue's fraternity, sorority, and cooperative life organizations through stories and a rich collection of more than 250 photos.

Check out Spring 2023 Graduation Celebrations  Blackthorn  Events. These events are a chance for families to celebrate the success of their graduate in the heart of campus! Don't delay - registration closes May 7th and space is limited.
