Dear Boilermaker,
As the semester draws to an end, it's normal to feel overwhelmed. You’re starting to see all of your efforts, actions and decisions culminate into results — positive, negative or neutral. If this semester didn’t go as planned, it can be tempting to get stuck on thoughts of “could have” or “should have.” First, take a moment to reflect on how these experiences can help you next semester. Then take a deep breath and acknowledge that — at least for now — you can only control what you do for the next couple of weeks. Below are a few resources to help you manage your time and maximize your schedule leading up to finals:
- Academic Success Center. The Helen Bass Williams Academic Success Center (ASC) provides handouts to help you stay organized, study for exams, track time, make to-do lists and more. Download these documents and start planning for Finals Week now.
- Time management app. Shovel is a college planner app that Purdue offers free to all students. Shovel allows you to enter your class schedule, assignments, extracurriculars, work schedules and more to help create structure and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Sign up today with your Purdue email.
- Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS). ODOS serves as a referral source for students facing academic, personal or financial concerns. If you aren't sure where to go with a problem, the ODOS website is a great place to start.
- Academic Advising. Remember, your academic advisor can help you navigate challenges and identify resources that can help you meet your goals. Make an appointment with them BoilerConnect.
Mark your calendars! 📆
