One Brick Higher Award

The One Brick Higher Award is named after the famous quote of former Purdue President James Smart, who vowed that once the original Heavilon Hall had been burnt down, it would be built “one brick higher.” This award was created to recognize the importance of individuals who make a difference in our lives by going beyond their required role. This memorial plaque is displayed on the first floor of the PMU.
