Parking Permits

Disability Parking

Accessible parking is available on campus to faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Anyone may park at metered disability spaces (denoted by blue and white handicap signs) with the appropriate license plate or official handicap placard displayed on the vehicle dashboard. Time limits must be observed, and meter fees must be paid. Additional options are below.

Visitors

To utilize spaces that require an “A” permit and a disability license plate or official placard, visitors may purchase a permit at the rate of $5.00 a day through the Purdue Parking Portal.

By Indiana state law, vehicles displaying Disabled American Veteran license plates are exempt from paying meter fees. An appropriate parking permit is required for permitted spaces.

Faculty and Staff

Temporary or short-term disability reserve permits for up to 90 days can be requested by completing the Accessible Parking Request Form. Assigned disability parking will be determined by the location of the requestor’s office or classroom, the availability of space and the duration needed.

Faculty and staff who need a long-term, assigned disability parking space should contact Human Resources.

Long-term, unassigned disability parking accommodations are available to those who have a BMV-issued disability placard or license plate.

Students

Students who need short-term and long-term accessibility parking arrangements should contact the Disability Resource Center. The DRC will submit a parking request to Parking Operations after meeting with the student.
