Parking Citations
A parking ticket/citation may be issued for any violation of the Purdue University Traffic and Parking Regulations.
Paying Citations
Citation amounts are listed in section 7.4 of the Traffic and Parking Regulations.
All parking citations must either be paid or appealed within 10 business days of the formal notice.
Parking citations must be paid online through the Purdue Parking Portal using MasterCard, Visa or Discover debit or credit cards. Citations may take up to 24 hours to appear in the parking portal after being issued. Citations may also be paid in person at the Parking Operations office or over the phone during business hours. Only the payment methods listed above will be accepted. Cash is not permitted.
Outstanding Citations
All past due citations will incur a $10 late payment penalty. After 60 days, unpaid citations will be sent to collections and incur an additional $12 fee. Three or more outstanding citations may lead to the vehicle being immobilized.
No new parking permits may be purchased by the violator until all outstanding citations and late penalties are paid.
Additionally, students with unpaid parking citations will have one or more holds placed on their academic record. This may restrict the receipt of financial aid funds, diplomas or other actions.
Appeal Process
All citation appeals must be submitted via electronic submission through the Purdue Parking Portal. Review the information below regarding the payment or appeal timeline, steps to appeal a citation and penalties for outstanding citations.
