Suggested traffic routes, parking information for Purdue spring commencement

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — With road construction continuing on campus, Purdue University is providing suggested routes and campus parking information for commencement ceremonies taking place Friday through Sunday (May 11-13).

There will be six ceremonies from Friday afternoon through Sunday. Below is route and parking information. Read the suggested routes/parking carefully, as the first ceremony (3 p.m. Friday) varies from the other five ceremonies.

Friday May 12, 3 p.m. ceremony

The North Stadium lot will be the designated parking area and visitors will be bused to Elliott Hall. 

Inbound from the North, South and West using US 231.

From US 231 take Lindberg Road eastbound.

Turn right off of Lindberg road onto McCormick Road.

Turn left off of McCormick Road onto Cherry Lane.

Turn right into the North Stadium parking lot. 

Inbound from the East from I-65

Exit I-65 at Exit 172 onto westbound South Street and continue.

Turn right onto Creasy Lane.

Turn left onto Union Street.

Continue on Union Street.

Union Street jogs right and turns into Salem Street.

Continue on Salem Street to the Harrison Bridge and cross.

Enter West Lafayette.

Salem Street has now turned into Fowler Avenue. Continue on Fowler Avenue.

Fowler Avenue curves to the right and turns into Northwestern Avenue.

Continue northbound on Northwestern Avenue.

Turn left onto Cherry Lane.

Turn left into the North Stadium parking lot.

Divisions II through VI ceremonies

Includes 7:20 p.m. Friday; 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday; and 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Each of these will use Purdue University Parking Garages.

From the north using Northwestern Avenue Garage

Take Northwestern Ave. south to 504 Northwestern Ave.

Enter ramp by turning left. 

From the south using Northwestern Avenue Garage

Take River Road north to 231 North - Purdue University/West Lafayette exit.

Stay right on ramp and continue onto Fowler Avenue.

Keep right and take Fowler to Grant Street.

Turn Right onto Grant Street

Enter parking ramp by turning left. 

From the north using Grant Street Garage 

Take Northwestern south to Grant Street.

Turn right on Grant Street.

Enter Parking ramp by turning left. 

From the south using Grant Street Garage

Take River Road north.

Proceed through Tapawingo traffic circle.

Turn left on State Street.

Turn right on Grant Street.

Enter parking ramp by turning right.

From the east using Grant Street Garage

Cross Wabash River on Harrison Bridge.

Turn left on Salisbury Street.

Turn right on North Street.

Turn Left on Andrew Place.

Enter parking ramp by turning right.
