Learn how to create new habits, get rid of old ones during upcoming Healthy Boiler workshops

“Habits,” a Healthy Boiler workshop focused on creating new habits and getting rid of old ones that are hindering personal achievements, is being offered by the Center for Healthy Living (CHL) on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus both in-person and virtually. Depending on what habits an individual is trying to create, the workshop can support any combination of the five Healthy Boiler pillars – behavioral health, financial wellness, physical health, social wellness and work-life integration.

Presented by Whitney Soto, registered nurse health coach at CHL, the workshops will take place on the follow dates:

  • 12 (W) -- 12:10-12:50 p.m., Stewart Center, Room 278 (in-person)
  • 19 (W) -- 12:10-12:50 p.m., GoToMeeting Link (virtual)

“We often have the urge to make changes in our lives, but aren’t always sure where to start in order to make them sustainable,” Soto says. “It’s important to outline your goals and try and recognize what habits are interfering. Then, we have the ability to create new habits that will help us reach and maintain the goals we have for ourselves.”

Individuals interested in attending should register by Feb. 11 for the in-person workshop and Feb. 18 for the virtual workshop via the Healthy Boiler Portal. Registration links can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage. Individuals participating in the virtual workshop will receive the link for the session when they register.

Healthy Boiler Workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. Any questions about “Habits,” can be directed to the Center for Healthy Living at 765-494-0111.
