Integrating Business, Engineering, and the Julie Wainwright Scholarship

The Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE) program combines engineering with business skills, making it a great fit for students like Sarah Werth. As a freshman in the IBE program, Sarah is pursuing a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, inspired by her mother and a business course she took in high school.

Sarah is proud to be a recipient of the Julie Wainwright Scholarship, awarded to women applying to the IBE major. Wainwright, a Purdue alum and entrepreneur, is the founder and former CEO of The RealReal, a luxury consignment company. Given that the major consists of 80% males and 20% females, this scholarship is especially significant. It covers full four-year tuition, as long as the student remains in the IBE program.

In addition to her studies, Sarah is active in extracurricular activities. She is a member of Future Greek Leaders, the Women’s Club for Integrated Business and Engineering Students, and the Chi Omega sorority. These experiences enhance her leadership skills and foster networking opportunities.

Sarah values the tight-knit community within the IBE major, where teamwork is a significant component of the learning experience. The combination of academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and entrepreneurial spirit will serve Sarah well in her future endeavors.
