As the academic year draws to a close, we’re celebrating the journeys of individuals who have transformed their entrepreneurial passions into tangible outcomes. In this edition of our newsletter, you’ll discover inspiring stories—from a student-founded bakery honoring a cherished family legacy, to a wellness app born out of personal adversity, and a new book, The Profitable Entrepreneur, which distills years of experience into a valuable resource for aspiring founders. Each venture showcases how passion, creativity, and perseverance fuel entrepreneurial success.
We’re also excited to highlight a major milestone: the successful launch of the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the new Purdue Indianapolis location. This dynamic urban environment opens new avenues for collaboration between students, entrepreneurs, and industry. The expansion of Purdue’s entrepreneurial footprint is off to a great start!

A Purdue Student Runs 10.10 Bakery While Honoring Family Legacy
When Purdue senior Ayanna Thompson opened 10.10 Bakery on October 10, 2024, she wasn’t just starting a business—she was fulfilling a dream rooted in family, tradition, and love. The bakery, located at 128 N. Main Street in Monticello, Indiana, takes its name from a date that holds deep personal meaning: her late sister’s birthday. It’s both a tribute and a tangible expression of Ayanna’s entrepreneurial spirit.
