A different kind of game day experience
Purdue game days can be exciting, but the crowds, noise, and activity aren't everyone's idea of fun. The DRC is hosting a sensory-friendly tailgate where students can enjoy the game-day atmosphere without the usual intensity.
Whether you want to watch football, play a game, make something, or just enjoy some food and company, there's a place for you.
What makes this tailgate sensory-friendly?
We've designed the evening to offer a more comfortable alternative to the typical game-day environment.
Reduced lighting for a less intense environment.
Lower-volume football with captions so you can enjoy the game without the usual noise level.
A separate, quieter space for anyone who wants a break from the activities.
Sensory-friendly activities, including board games, friendship bracelet making, and coloring.
Food and community in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Participate at your own pace
There's no expectation to participate in every activity or socialize the entire time. Watch the game, make a bracelet, color, play a board game, or simply hang out. Stay for a few minutes or the whole evening, and take breaks whenever you need them.

Staff from the Gregory S. Fehribach Center at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis will be visiting Purdue to meet with students interested in paid internships and professional development opportunities.
The Fehribach Center provides paid internships to college students with physical disabilities, including mobility, visual, hearing, and orthopedic disabilities. Opportunities are available across academic majors, and students from their first year of college through graduate school are eligible to apply.
What does the program offer?
Paid summer internships across a variety of majors and career fields.
Meaningful professional experience and opportunities to develop workplace skills.
Housing and transportation assistance when needed.
Professional development and networking opportunities throughout the summer.

Students are welcome to stop by anytime between 12:30 and 4:00 p.m. to meet Fehribach Center staff, ask questions, and learn more about internship opportunities and the application process. There's no formal presentation or appointment required.
