NEW Funding Opportunity for Students

Proposals will be ranked based on the following criteria:

  1. Impact on the community – Is a strong case made that the activity will have a significant positive impact on the audience?. Please be sure to identify the target community.
  2. Innovation – Is the new activity groundbreaking, and does it capitalize on unique strengths at Purdue?
  3. Design – Is the activity well thought out, particularly with respect to the audience’s perspective?
  4. Appropriate plan for self-review and feedback?
  5. Capacity – Can the group execute the project?
  6. Budget – Is the budget detailed and reasonable?

 

General Guidelines:

  • Qualification – The submitting student must be an active student at Purdue University. The proposed activity must be completed in the 2019 calendar year.
  • Proposal Length – Proposal should be single-spaced and a maximum of 2 pages in length (Arial or Calibri font at 12pt) with no less than 1 inch page margins. Shorter proposals (e.g. 1 to 1.5 pages) that address the criteria outlined above are acceptable. References (if any) are not part of the page limit.
  • File format – Only .doc, .docx, or .pdf files will be accepted. Any figures should be embedded in the document and must fit within the maximum page limit.
  • Budget – Provide a detailed budget and justification of costs associated with the proposed activity. The budget description is not part of the page limit.
  • Future Reporting – Funding will be contingent on the award winners agreeing to provide a brief report summarizing the impact of the event (this report will be included in PIIN’s final SfN Chapter Grant report).
  • Deadline – Applications must be received by PIIN (neuro@purdue.edu) by 5:00 pm March 1st, 2019. Applicants do not need to work with pre-award/SPS to submit an application for this internal RFA.
