Purdue Proprietary Libraries

Purdue University Proprietary Library (PUP Library)
The Chemical Genomics Facility (CGF) is developing a novel screening library exclusively available to Purdue investigators. The goal is to collect unique chemical compounds from research laboratories across Purdue to establish the Purdue University Proprietary Library (PUP Library).
Purdue Principal Investigators (PIs) may screen the PUP Library against biological targets of interest. If a compound is identified as a hit, the screening PI may contact the PI whose laboratory submitted the compound (the depositing PI) to obtain additional information and discuss opportunities for collaboration.
The PUP Library is intended to promote interdisciplinary research across campus, facilitate new scientific collaborations, and support the generation of intellectual property.
Terms for Screening the PUP Library
• Compound structures will not be disclosed to the screening PI prior to screening. If a hit is identified, the screening PI should contact the depositing PI to request the compound structure and discuss potential collaboration.
• By submitting compounds to the PUP Library, the depositing PI agrees to be open to contact from screening PIs when a submitted compound is identified as a hit.
• The depositing PI will be given the first opportunity to collaborate with the screening PI on subsequent hit validation and hit-to-lead optimization.
• If the depositing PI chooses not to participate in further development of the hit, the screening PI may seek other collaborators to support hit-to-lead optimization and related studies.
Compound Submission Guidelines
CGF will provide labeled vials for interested laboratories to use for compound submission.
For each compound, please provide a minimum of 40 µL of a 10 mM stock solution in DMSO, together with the following information. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
• Vial label*
• Submitting laboratory's molecule ID*
• Chemical structure (SDF file or SMILES)*
• Molecular weight
• Compound name or alias, if available
• Amount submitted (>40 µL)*
• Submitting PI's name*
• Purity (%), if known
• Predicted mechanism of action, such as covalent or non-covalent interaction, reversible or irreversible activity, if applicable
• Other known or predicted target or activity information
• Date of preparation and submission*
A compound submission form template is available for submitting laboratories to complete.
