Mentoring Pods
The Butler Center continues to support faculty success and development through a variety of mentoring community programs. The Mentoring Pods program offers connection and community across campus and across career stages for mutual encouragement and support. Key activities of this program include meeting with those in one’s mentoring pod on a regular basis, mentoring community gatherings hosted by the Butler Center, and larger campus-wide events focused on celebrating and/or developing faculty mentorship and leadership. The Mentoring Pods program is not intended to replicate nor substitute mentoring resources available within each faculty’s own unit (which tend to be focused on P&T, grants, and other indicators of professional advancement that are discipline-specific). Instead, this program offers mentoring support on individual and relational thriving in a broader sense, to develop a greater sense of belonging at Purdue. The application period to join the next cycle of pods is expected to open early in the 2026 fall semester.Moms Network for Faculty
The Moms Network for Faculty is dedicated to issues related to motherhood such as the transition to parenthood, navigating university policies for time off, resources for childcare, managing the pressures of life-work balance, and more. The goal and aim of this program is to build an informational network and supportive community for faculty who are mothers and/or expectant mothers.Mentoring and Coaching Academy
Launched at the beginning of 2026 spring semester, the Mentoring and Coaching Academy offers a cohort-based experience for full professors seeking to advance their mentoring and coaching skills. Through nine in-person workshops across the academic year, participants gain practical tools, connect with peers, and learn from campus and external experts. The application period to join the next cohort is expected to open late in the 2026 fall semester.
