Jazz bands from middle schools and high schools across the Midwest will converge on Purdue University on Saturday, January 20 2024 for the 34rd annual Purdue Jazz Festival.

Thursday, January 18 – 7:30 PM
Community Jazz Showcase
Performances associated with the festival will kick off Thursday, January 18th with a free Community Jazz Showcase at 7:30 p.m. at the Long Center for the Performing arts in Lafayette, Indiana, featuring the Purdue Jazz Band and High School jazz bands from Tippecanoe County.
Friday, January 19 – 8:00 PM
Lakecia Benjamin & Phoenix
Grammy-nominated saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin & Phoenix will perform as the Friday, January 19th headliner concert at 8:00 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse. The event is presented by Purdue Convocations with support from Purdue University Bands & Orchestras, Drs. Marshall & Berdine Martin, Dr. Sandra Syndor, and Kevin & Janene Davis. Festival Day
Over 100 high school and middle school jazz ensembles will compete in various divisions at Purdue University. The Purdue Jazz Band will give two performances – one at noon and one at 7:30 PM at the Finale and Awards Ceremony. Throughout the day, our Guest Artists and Clinicians will give lectures and demonstrations that are open to the Festival participants.
