Indianapolis 500
The Purdue “All-American” Marching Band has been the official band for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing since 1919. Only having missed 3 races in the last century, the AAMB remains a staple sound and sight for Indy 500 pre-race festivities.
The 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will occur on Sunday, May 26th.
Festival Parade
Almost 300 members of the Purdue
“All-American” Marching Band
perform in the annual AES 500 Festival
Parade and Race Day festivities at
the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Back Home Again
The Band famously accompanied
the iconic Jim Nabors on Back Home
Again in Indiana starting in the 1970s.
They now perform the historic song
with Jim Cornelison just moments
before the start of the race.
Trackside Experience
Fans can see and hear the Band perform at throughout the pre-race festivities under the Pagoda. The Band gets to experience the formation laps and Lap 1 of the race from right behind Pit Lane.
