Open enrollment in 10 easy steps via EBenefits

Enrollment for 2017 is open, and faculty and staff are encouraged to enroll early while resources to assist are plentiful. In an effort to help make the process as simple as possible, step-by-step enrollment instructions are provided.

Steps to enroll through EBenefits

1. Go to OneCampus and click the EBenefits link.

2. Enter your Purdue career account and password, and then follow the "Open Enrollment is Available Now" link to "Enroll Now."

3. Review your dependents for 2017. Reporting requirements under Health Care Reform make it necessary for you to provide the Social Security number of each dependent you cover on your medical plan. If you do not have the Social Security numbers you need, you can still enroll but remember to enter them into the system later. Note: You will need to provide documentation to support eligibility for any new dependents you add to medical coverage. You can upload your documentation right into EBenefits.

4. Confirm tobacco-user status for you and your covered spouse: 1) Have not used tobacco in the last 12 months 2) Have used tobacco in the last 12 months or 3) Have used tobacco in the last 12 months, but completed an approved cessation program between Sept. 1 and Nov. 11, 2016. If you're a tobacco user, the additional $500 medical premium will apply. The same applies to your covered spouse. The maximum additional premium for you and your spouse would be $1,000.

5. Review each benefit. You will find benefit information, pricing, links to vendor websites and more.

6. Choose your 2017 benefits.

7. Answer legal notice question.

8. Review the summary at the end of the enrollment steps. This is your confirmation of benefits. Reviewing this section ensures your coverages are recorded as you intend.

9. Be sure to initial and submit your changes to make them final.

10. Save and/or print your benefits summary for your records and review it once more for accuracy. Note: EBenefits will instantly provide you with a confirmation statement when you complete your enrollment. Changes may be made and resubmitted up to the open enrollment deadline, which is 6 p.m. EST Nov. 11. Employees are encouraged to print and/or save the confirmation for their records.
