Detailed information shared on how to search for dental providers
With open enrollment underway, dental coverage for 2017 is getting a lot of attention. As previously stated, Purdue's dental plan will move to Anthem Dental Complete effective Jan. 1. Plan coverage remains the same, but the switch to Anthem provides employees and the University reduced premiums.
Searching for and nominating dental providers
Specific instructions are provided and must be followed in order to review providers who are in the Dental Complete network with Anthem. To check to see if a dentist is already participating in the Anthem network, use Anthem's detailed "How to Find a Dentist Online" guide. In Step 3, employees will need to “Search as a Guest” since the Anthem dental account is not effective until Jan. 1. You can also review the state directory to see if a dentist is already participating.
If a dentist is not already participating, an employee can nominate a dentist to Anthem, and an Anthem representative will reach out to the provider. To nominate a provider, complete the Provider Nomination Form, then email or fax the form to Anthem as directed on the form.

Open enrollment ends at 6 p.m. EST Nov. 11. No changes can be made after that time unless due to a qualifying life event (change in family status.) Questions about open enrollment can be directed to Human Resources at 49-42222, hr@purdue.edu or via the secure email path at HR Help.
