Winter 2025 and Summer 2026 Minors and Certificates

Quick Links:

Minors and Certificates for Undergraduate Students

An academic minor or certificate is a secondary academic discipline that complements a student's major area of study or allows exploration of a non-related area of interest. Students may earn minors and certificates from other Colleges. To declare a minor or certificate, consult with your advisor to determine the best fit for your goals and schedule.

Timely Graduation

Minors and certificates should be considered as an optional direction for elective credits. Most students stay on track to graduate with one or more minors or certificates. Keep in mind that early planning can help seamlessly integrate these into your academic journey. Students can take three credits during winter and nine over the summer to complete 12 extra credits per year, accelerating progress toward graduation.

Learn New Skills and Explore Interests

Enhance your resume by learning valuable skills that complement your degree. Minors and certificates provide an opportunity to explore additional interests and passions beyond your major.

Complete necessary courses during Summer and Winter Sessions. A variety of offerings are available; check the online University Catalog for all options.
