Appointments, honors and activities

  • Appointments and promotions:

- Holly Wood has been appointed as senior director of health equity initiatives at Purdue University. Wood became interested in community health early in her career through public health work in rural Indiana. She helped several counties with policy and practice improvement plans following the H1N1 pandemic of 2009. The disparity in the rate of infants dying from preventable causes was the catalyst that began Wood's passion for health equity. Immediately before coming to Purdue, she served as an expert in mitigating secondary childhood trauma through the implementation of a framework known as “Handle with Care.” In addition to being appointed as senior director of equity initiatives, Wood serves on Purdue's health equity initiatives team led by Executive Director Dr. Jerome Adams.
