Resource Hours Spring 2025

The LCC teams up with departments, student organizations and partners across campus to host resources in-house. All Purdue University students are welcome to use these resources. There is no cost to participate, and no appointment is needed. 

Ponte las Pilas: Graduate Student Series

Graduate students are invited to Join the Latinx Graduate Student Organization and LCC Graduate Assistant, for quiet study hours whether you're working on a publication, dissertation, thesis or class assignment. We will help keep you on track. Food available. No RSVP needed. No need to stay the entire time.

All students are welcome to drop in to speak to the LCC Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) liaison. This is an informal session to check in on how the semester is going and to see how CAPS can further support you. This is open to all Purdue University students.

Boiler Financial Track (NEW)

Boiler Financial Track aims to help Purdue University students learn to manage their money effectively and provides the education and guidance needed to empower them to make informed financial decisions during their college careers and throughout life.

Spanish Conversation Tables

Purdue University and Greater Lafayette community members are invited to practice their Spanish conversation skills with Heritage Spanish Speaker Silvana. No quizzes or tests, just fun speaking Spanish! 

CARE Advocacy Hour

11:30AM - 12:30PM, @ LCC Maricela Alvarado Lounge

Come get to know the Center for Advocacy, Response and Education (CARE) advocates or receive entirely confidential support for direct or indirect experiences of interpersonal violence (e.g. sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, sexual harassment, etc.).
  • Jan. 23: Button Making and Intro to Lila & CARE Resources

Did you know there is an office on campus that advocates for students who have experienced interpersonal violence? Did you know this office is confidential? Come learn more about the resources and supportive measures that CARE provides to the Purdue student community, get to know CARE’s advocate, Lila, who will be at the LCC each month, and make some buttons to take home!

  • February 13: Healthy Relationships and Valentine’s Cards/Candy

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, join CARE and the LCC in talking about green flags in healthy relationships. Fill out a valentine for someone in your life to show appreciation for them, and CARE will deliver it to them with candy on Valentines Day! (While supplies last, delivery only available for on-campus residences).

  • March 13: Art Show painting

Did you know April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month? Did you know each April, CARE hosts an art show for this cause? This year, come to the LCC to help collaborate on a community art piece to honor the history of advocacy within Latinx culture and the voices of Latinx survivors.

  • April 3 & April 10: Succulent Planting

Join CARE and the LCC in planting succulents to take home while we discuss the importance of self-care and how we are not so different from the plants and life around us. Succulents will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis while supplies last.
