Request a New Tool

New Tool Request Form

Innovative Learning is always interested in filling the gaps in our instructional technology portfolio and gaining a better understanding of the needs of instructors.

A New Tool Request is needed when an instructor discovers a tool or software that is scalable, able to impact multiple courses and be used in multiple departments and colleges and provides the highest value to the courses taught at the University. Tools will also need to follow the University’s standards of accessibility and security for a request to be made.

The intention of a New Tool request is to begin the evaluation process of a new technology and the recommendation of whether it should be added to the centrally supported portfolio. Please note this process does not guarantee your request and will take up to 12 months to evaluate.

If your tool is specific to only your course and not able to impact multiple colleges/departments or used at scale, then your tool will be better suited for a New Brightspace Integration Request. Funding for a New Brightspace Integration Request will be provided by you and/or your department.

How it Works/ Getting it Approved

Flow chart showing process for how a new tool gets approved and implemented
Step 1: Request is made
Step 2: Intake review
Step 3: Simultaneous reviews including: Technology benchmark analysis, accessibility, security, and procurement
Step 4: Recommendations from Instructional technology stakeholders and university leadership
Step 5: Implementation

Requests could take up to 12 months or more, if found beneficial for the University as a whole.
