Explore artificial intelligence in support of curriculum during Oct. 19 TLCoP

All Purdue West Lafayette instructors, teaching assistants, staff, and students are invited to join the Teaching and Learning Community of Practice (TLCoP) online on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 10:30 – 11:30 am, for an exploration of artificial intelligence projects funded through Transformative Education 2.0.

The Transformative Education 2.0 Project Enhancing Student Learning and Classroom Engagement at Scale seeks to find innovative ways for instructors to create and apply technology and pedagogy in support of residential student learning and the curriculum. Innovation College is funding several projects related to this initiative that aim to more effectively assess, adapt, and personalize student learning through use of artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). This TLCoP meeting will spotlight a few of these funded projects and offer attendees opportunities to explore how innovative technologies can be incorporated into their courses.

Featured speakers include the following, who will discuss the projects they are currently working on related to AI/AR/VR and pedagogy:

  • Gary Bertoline, senior vice president for Purdue Online and learning innovation
  • Lindsay Hamm, lecturer, sociology
  • Chris Brinton, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering
  • Mike Sangid, associate professor of aeronautical and astronautical engineering

Register for access to this online session. Further details on other TLCoP sessions during fall 2021 and the community of practice are available on the TLCoP website.
