Gradescope Guidelines and Cover Page Examples
- Print exams on white paper. If color paper is unavoidable, please limit to light colors.
- Use color paper if students need extra pages to show their work. Exams with extra pages need to be separated and will be scanned together in a separate batch and added to Gradescope. Scratch pages should contain dark print at the top. A scratch page example is available.
- Every Gradescope exam needs a cover page that is easily identifiable and contains student’s name and PUID. Cover page examples are available. Short quizzes of three pages or less do not need a cover page. Names and PUIDs must appear near the top of the first page.
- All exam pages should include the student name and PUID and students should write their name with well-spaced characters above the line. They should also use their complete name e.g., “Samuel” instead of “Sam”.
- Joint Scantron and Gradescope exams must be stapled separately with a cover page on the Gradescope exam.
- Exams may be single or double-sided. If the exam is double-sided, there must be print on both sides of every page.
- Staple exam pages in the upper left hand corner as close to the corner as possible. Exams should remain stapled.
- An exam template must be set up in Gradescope and the roster updated prior to dropping exams off at IDP.
- Add IDP Staff to your roster with the role of “TA”. First Name “IDP” and Last Name “Staff” and Email “idp@purdue.edu”
- Submit IDP Gradescope worksheet with student exams. Late exams or Exams taken at the DRC may also be scanned and added to Gradescope.
- IDP will contact customer upon completion.
- Please pick up processed exams after completion. Exam(s) not processed will be labeled.
