Linda Prokopy visited Colorado State’s HLA department earlier this week and presented about the Diverse Corn Belt project in their departmental seminar. She also toured their facilities and met with several of their faculty, staff and students.
Department Head, Linda Prokopy, traveled to Chicago this week with April Shepherd from Ag Development. Highlights of the trip included visiting with Ball Horticulture’s 3 Purdue interns (including Ian Kelly, a HORT major, and Kayla Grennes, an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Ying Li’s lab) and visiting with Distinguished Ag Alum, Dr. Marvin Miller.
Ashley Adair, Lori Hoagland, and Liz Maynard traveled with Indiana Urban Soil Health and NRCS staff to Frith Farm in Scarborough, ME last week. Department Head, Linda Prokopy, traveled to Auburn University the week of May 22 to meet with other Horticulture Department Heads. While there, she toured vertical container farms, a rooftop garden managed by the Horticulture department, and the beginnings of a Transformation Garden being established by the Horticulture department.
Ariana Torres was in Uzbekistan as part of the USAID Farmer-to-Farmer program. She gave 10 workshops as part of her Market Readiness Extension program and provided her market access expertise to Uzbek businesses and gave talks in agricultural and medical universities about consumer trends for foods.
