Welcome To Our New Instructors!

Terry Robertson-Smith

The Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program is pleased to welcome Terry Robertson Smith as an ENTR 31000  instructor. Terry is a graduate of Purdue with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Horticulture.

Many people in the West Lafayette area are familiar with a very popular entrepreneurial venture Terry founded, called Rubia Flower Market. The European style cut flower market was something that she had been working towards throughout her career.  She worked as a sales executive for imported cut flower companies, and as a floral design expert and instructor. The creative team hired by Terry to develop Rubia Flower Market was hard-working and talented. Each person brought their own individuality to the venture, and Terry supported their talents as they served a wide variety of customers, from individuals to communities. After a decade, Terry sold Rubia Flower Market to an employee, and it continues to flourish.

Terry’s corporate ventures have been with flower importing companies in Miami, Florida – Esmeralda Farms, CFX/LaFleurette, and Sunshine Bouquet.  Each were multi-million companies that serviced wholesale floral companies and mass markets in the United States.

Today, Terry continues to work with Stellar Farms which is a cut flower in Miami that imports from South America.  Her clients are wholesale floral companies and mass markets.  She also works with Bloomy Pro which is a 3D virtual cut flower bouquet creation software system created in Holland. She represents the company as an independent sales representative responsible for business development with growers from South America, retail floral stores, and mass market retailers.

With these valuable entrepreneurial experiences, Terry will certainly inspire and teach ENTR 31000 students how to achieve their entrepreneurial goals.
