Important Notes – 2026

The week of Band Camp (August 16-22) is your audition. You will learn our marching style, music, and get to know your fellow students and leaders.

2026 Report Dates:

• Sunday, August 16: All Incoming Freshmen, New Student Brass and Woodwind players, All Drumline, and All Auxiliaries
• Monday, August 17: All Returning Brass and Woodwind Players

Participation in Band Camp does not guarantee acceptance into the marching band.

• Students not selected to be in the Marching Band are highly encouraged to transition into one of our Indoor Ensembles. You will automatically be placed in another ensemble based on your Marching Band music audition.

• If you are only auditioning for Marching Band (attending Band Camp) you are not required to submit an indoor ensemble audition. However, if you plan to perform in marching band and an additional indoor ensemble (concert, jazz, orchestra), you should still complete the requisite indoor audition.

• All students auditioning for marching band are required to attend Band Camp.

• Do not sign up for Boiler Gold Rush if you intend to participate in Band Camp. We are part of the “All Aboard” Orientation family at Purdue, so you will still get acclimated to campus through many of the same opportunities like making friends, campus tours, guest speakers, and social activities.

• Students selected for membership are required to register for BAND 11000 (CRN 46611-001)

• While it is possible to participate in multiple ensembles, you should strongly consider the time commitment, your course load, what else you might plan to get involved with on campus, and your own time management skills.

• Please be aware that as a Band Camp participant, housing is not waived, and you will be assessed an approximately $35/day charge from the time of check-in until the start of the contract on Friday, August 21, 2026. (Subject to change.)
