Pam Strollo
Class of 1984 and 1987
Pam earned a B.S. in Geology from Purdue University in 1984 and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1987. During her undergraduate years, she was an active member of Purdue Bands & Orchestras and one of the original eight members of the inaugural piccolo section in the “All-American” Marching Band. She marched from 1980 to 1984, served as piccolo section leader, and performed with the Symphony Band, American Music Review, and the Basketball Pep Band. In 1984, Pam was selected to represent Purdue University and the state of Indiana as a member of the U.S. Olympic “All-American” Marching Band in Los Angeles. She also contributed to the organization through her work in the band library and later returned to perform in Purdue Summer Band in 1986.
Pam has served on the Purdue Bands & Orchestras Advisory Board since 2016 and currently serves as its chair. Throughout her career, she has worked for Corning Incorporated in a variety of engineering, manufacturing, marketing, technology portfolio management, and leadership roles. With more than 35 years at Corning, she currently serves as Division Vice President, Chief Technology Office Operations, Science & Technology, helping to guide strategic and operational initiatives across the organization.
Music has remained an important part of Pam’s life and she continues to perform on flute and piccolo with community ensembles, including the Twin Tiers Community Orchestra and the Crystal City Flute Choir. Pam and her husband, Steve, are the proud parents of three grown daughters and remain dedicated supporters of music education and Purdue Bands & Orchestras.
