David Varca
Class of 1999
David earned a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Communications from Purdue University. During his time at Purdue, David was highly involved in campus leadership and student organizations, serving as principal cellist in the Purdue Symphony Orchestra, Student Body President, President of the Association of Big Ten Students, and a member of Delta Sigma Phi.
David has more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending, with specialized expertise in the senior living, long-term care, multifamily housing, retail, manufacturing, distribution, service, and hedge fund sectors. He currently serves as Vice President and Senior FHA Underwriter at CBRE, where he manages underwriting for HUD Section 232 LEAN healthcare loans, multifamily housing loans under the HUD Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) program, and healthcare bridge lending. He is both a HUD LEAN-approved and HUD MAP-approved underwriter.Prior to joining CBRE, David held leadership positions with Fifth Third Bank, Bank of America, Banco Popular/Popular Community Bank, and Ares Management, where he oversaw underwriting, portfolio management, and lending operations for national healthcare and senior living platforms.
In addition to his professional work, David joined the Purdue Bands & Orchestras Advisory Board in August 2011. He also serves on the Village of Winnetka Environmental, Forestry & Sustainability Commission and is Treasurer and a board member of the Trevian Girls Fastpitch Association. He lives in Winnetka, Illinois, with his wife, Ashlea, a fellow Purdue graduate, their daughter Addison, and their two cats, Apollo and Athena.
