The entire week of band camp is part of the audition process. Registering for band camp is does not guarantee placement in the “All-American” Marching Band. You must attend band camp to be offered membership.
Selections are made on the Friday of band camp, at which point students who are not selected are strongly encouraged to transition to one of our fantastic indoor ensembles.
Those attending Band Camp do not need to submit an indoor ensemble audition.
Students interested in the “All-American” Marching Band drumline have an additional opportunity over the summer to attend our Drumline Tech Weekend. For one weekend, you practice with your peers and student leaders, learning our marching style, drumline fundamentals, as well as working on the audition music. Sign up with the link below.
The Applied Music Studies program offers students private lessons on piano, guitar, and chamber music. Instructors are professional musicians from the region. Lessons are scheduled on a semester basis. Various lesson packages are offered on a non-credit basis with a special lab fee based on the number of lessons scheduled.
Students who play at an advanced level and are interested in receiving 1 hour of academic credit may audition and then register for BAND 12000. Students receiving credit must complete a jury/recital at the end of this semester.
