Expectations of the Advisor's Role

  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) (federally mandated crime reporter) for the University.  As such I shall immediately report any Clery Act crimes that I am made aware of, to the Purdue University Policy Department.   • Take the mandatory advisor training on webcert at https://www.eventreg.purdue.edu/WebCert/Heading.aspx#
  • Meet with officer(s) on a regular basis.
  • Have a working understanding of the organization’s constitution.
  • Maintain contact with a designated officer at least once per month.
  • Abide by and explain Purdue University policies, as well as local, state, federal laws.
  • Report any concerning behavior, incidents, or injuries regarding the student organization and their activities to Student Activities and Organizations and online via incident reporting https://www.purdue.edu/odos/ .
  • Review and understand expectations of and policies for student organizations (the handbook may be accessed at https://www.purdue.edu/b-involved/student-organizations- and-involvement/handbook/ )
  • Be a full-time faculty or management, or professional at Purdue University, West Lafayette Campus.
