Does Purdue offer any type of safe escort or walk service on campus?
Yes, the Purdue University Police Department has Student Security Patrol officers who will walk students, faculty or staff members anywhere on campus at any time of day or night. They may be reached at 765-494-SAFE (7233).
What are my other transportation options if I am not eligible for a parking permit?
If you live within the C permit boundary (PDF) of campus, walking and biking are both options. Also, with a Purdue University ID card, faculty, staff and students may ride any of the CityBus routes for free.
How do I register my bicycle on campus?
It is strongly recommended that your bicycle be registered using Purdue's Bicycle Registration Program. Download the 529Garage App on your smartphone or Click Here to begin your registration. Once you have completed the online information portion of your bicycle registration you must pick up your registration sticker at any of the approved locations on campus. Information on approved pick-up locations may be found here.
Where can I park my bicycle on campus?
Bicycles should only be parked at bicycle racks — which can be found all over campus. Bicycles parked elsewhere may be removed without warning. Bicycles are not permitted to be left parked during any of Purdue's schedule breaks. If you are unsure if you are allowed to leave your bicycle parked on campus or have any questions feel free to email the Purdue Bicycle Operations Coordinator at bicycling@purdue.edu
May I leave my vehicle in a parking garage while I am away on a trip or for an extended period of time?
Vehicles are not allowed to be left in parking lots or garages longer than 24 hours without the pre-approval of Parking Facilities. This does not apply to vehicles with permits for Hawkins Hall, University residence halls or guests staying at the Purdue Memorial Union.
Is parking enforced year-round on campus?
Parking is enforced 365 days of the year.
Where do I park if I'm attending an athletic event?

The Northwestern Avenue and University Street Parking Garages are designated parking locations for home football game attendees for a per-game fee. Game-day parking passes may be purchased in advance via the link provided above.
Does Purdue have electric vehicle charging stations? If so, who may use them?
Yes, refer to the Charging Stations webpage for locations. Motorists will need to download the TurnOnGreen mobile app and create an account — complete with payment information — to use the charging stations. The use of EV spaces does not require a university parking permit.
EV spaces are intended for active charging only. Non-EVs and EVs that are parked but not connected to the charging station are subject to receiving a parking citation.
Vehicles eligible to park in a Purdue University EV parking space must be capable of being recharged by connecting to the station with a SAE J1722 connector, either with or without customer supplied adapter. Vehicles not having this capability, regardless of whether or not a valid a Purdue University EV parking permit is displayed, are in violation of University regulations. Electric or hybrid vehicles plugged in to any electrical outlet, except a Purdue University EV charging station, on campus are in violation of University regulations.
