Related information is available in the Parking and Traffic regulations.

Additionally, students may not drive or park vehicles on the north academic campus between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Reasons for Parking Citations webpage describes some of the reasons a parking citation may be issued.

How do I appeal a parking ticket/citation?

Refer to the Appeal Process webpage for the steps and more information.

What is a citation mailer, and who receives one?

A citation mailer is a notice that a parking citation has been issued to a vehicle parked on Purdue's campus. Faculty/staff and students will receive this notification through email. Visitors will receive one through postal mail. Citation mailers are in addition to the printed citation left on a vehicle.

Why would I have an immobilization device, or "boot," put on my vehicle?

Immobilization devices are placed on vehicles for failure to pay fines or for parking with a permit that is invalid, stolen, lost or deactivated. These devices must be removed and recovered by the Parking Facilities office during regular business hours. After-hours requests may be made by contacting the non-emergency number for the Purdue University Police Department at 765-494-8221.

Why would my vehicle be towed?

There are a variety of reasons why a vehicle could be towed, including but not limited to being parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, being improperly parked, being left unattended for more than 72 hours, parking with a stolen or invalid parking permit, parking in a reserved space, or parking in a restricted space during an athletic event.

What should I do if my vehicle is towed?

If your vehicle has been towed, contact Parking Facilities at 765-494-9497 during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or the Purdue University Police Department at 765-494-8221 anytime. Your vehicle will only be released with proper ID and receipt of payment of all fines and/or tow fees due.
