Additionally, students may not drive or park vehicles on the north academic campus between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

What are the reasons for receiving a parking ticket/citation?

A vehicle may receive a parking ticket/citation for any violation of the Purdue University parking regulations, including but not limited to the following reasons:

  • Improper display of a permit

  • Parking without a permit

  • Parking at an expired meter

  • Overtime parking in a loading zone

  • Improper use of a loading zone

  • Parking in a reserved space

  • Parking in a restricted space during an athletic event

  • Parking in violation of painted or posted signage

How do I pay parking tickets/citations?

Parking tickets/citations may be paid online through the parking portal using MasterCard, Visa and Discover debit or credit card payments. Tickets may take up to 24 hours to appear in the online parking portal after being issued.

Cash and debit or credit card payments are accepted in person at the Parking Facilities office during business hours.

The Purdue University Police Department's drop box is available 24/7 for cash payments in the lobby of the Terry House (TERY), located at 205 S. Martin Jischke Drive, West Lafayette, IN. Please include your citation with your payment.

How do I appeal a parking ticket/citation?

To appeal a parking citation, submit the online Citation Appeal Form online. Review additional information about appeal timelines and processes prior to submitting an appeal.  

What's a citation mailer, and who receives one?

A citation mailer is a notice of citation that will be sent to those who receive a parking ticket/citation on Purdue's campus.

Why would I have an immobilization device, or "boot," put on my vehicle?

Immobilization devices are placed on vehicles for failure to pay fines or for parking with a permit that is invalid, stolen, lost or deactivated. These devices must be removed and recovered by the Parking Facilities office during regular business hours. After-hours requests may be made by contacting the non-emergency number for the Purdue University Police Department at (765) 494-8221.

Why would my vehicle be towed?

There are a variety of reasons why a vehicle could be towed, including but not limited to being parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, being improperly parked, being left unattended for more than 72 hours, parking with a stolen or invalid parking permit, parking in a reserved space, or parking in a restricted space during an athletic event.

What should I do if my vehicle is towed?

If your vehicle has been towed, contact Parking Facilities at (765) 494-9497 during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or the Purdue University Police Department at (765) 494-8221 anytime. Your vehicle will only be released with proper ID and upon payment of all fines and/or tow fees due.
