A vehicle may receive a parking ticket/citation for any violation of the Purdue University parking regulations, including parking without a permit, parking at an expired meter, overtime parking in a loading zone, parking in a reserved space, parking in a restricted space during an athletic event, or parking in violation of painted or posted signage.

Parking tickets/citations may be paid online, by mail, in person at Parking Facilities or by phone, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. How do I appeal a parking ticket/citation?

Students, faculty and staff should complete an appeal form either online or in the Parking Facilities Office. An appeals officer will review your form and make a decision based on the information you have provided either on the form or as an attachment. Visitors should write a letter of explanation and mail it to the address on your ticket/citation or email it to parking@purdue.edu. A return mailing address is required as the response will be returned via U.S. mail.

What's a citation mailer and who receives one?

A citation mailer is a notice of citation that may be sent to those who receive a parking ticket/citation on Purdue's campus.

Why would I have an immobilization device, or "boot," put on my vehicle?

Immobilization devices are placed on vehicles for failure to pay fines or for displaying a parking permit that is invalid, stolen, lost or deactivated. These devices must be removed and recovered by the Parking Facilities Office.

Why would my vehicle be towed?

There are a variety of reasons why a vehicle could be towed, including but not limited to being parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, being improperly parked, being left unattended for more than 72 hours, displaying a stolen or invalid parking permit, parking in a reserved space, or parking in a restricted space during an athletic event.

What should I do if my vehicle is towed?

If your vehicle has been towed, contact Parking Facilities at 765-494-9497 during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri., or the Purdue University Police Department at 765-494-8221 anytime.
