Dear Boilermaker,
You now have access to your online orientation program – called Purdue 101. Purdue 101 is the first step of your All Aboard Purdue orientation experience. Purdue 101 is required for all incoming students. Students beginning classes in the spring must complete Purdue 101, which includes filling out your Student Information Form (SIF), by December 2, 2024. Completing this step lets us know that you are ready to meet with an academic advisor. You must complete Purdue 101 before you can move on to Step 2 of your Purdue Orientation, Purdue Advising. Academic advising timelines vary by academic college. After you've completed Purdue 101, your academic advisor will send you an email to set up a time for your virtual advising appointment, so please continue to check your Purdue email regularly. Students are highly encouraged to finish Purdue 101 and meet with their academic advisor as soon as possible. You can find program dates and deadlines on our website.
How do I access Purdue 101?
Log in to Purdue’s Brightspace learning management system to complete the Purdue 101 modules. Then, select the “Purdue University – West Lafayette/Indianapolis” section. Log in with your Purdue career account information. Brightspace can also be accessed through the Pulse App, which can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play.
If you need help logging in to any Purdue systems, or general Purdue IT help, please review Purdue's IT web page for new students , or call Purdue IT at (765) 494-4000 . Continue to make progress on your New Student Task List , which resides in your myPurdue student portal . Your task list contains a variety of important announcements and to-do items that you will need to complete before classes begin. For example, make sure to upload a photo for your Purdue Mobile ID. It is important to check your task list regularly, as new items will appear in the weeks leading up to your first semester. Please note that myPurdue will be upgraded later this summer. Your task list will still be accessible from the new version and all your completed tasks will carry over, but the system will have a new look and feel. More information about this change will be shared with you when the system upgrade takes place.
How will I transition to campus in January?
Steps 3 and 4 in Purdue's orientation process are Purdue 102 (another virtual experience) and your Purdue welcome! You'll hear more about Purdue 102 in the coming weeks. Be sure to register for Boiler Cold Rush (BCR) , your new student orientation program that takes place the weekend before spring classes begin.
BCR programming takes place on January 10 and 11, 2025.
Move-in takes place on January 9 for BCR participants living on campus with University Residences. We encourage students living off-campus to arrive on these days so you're here before the start of the program.
