Purdue University, Christian Brothers University partner to build new educational pathways for the future

Purdue University and Christian Brothers University (CBU) announced a new partnership designed to increase opportunities for CBU engineering students.

The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding this month, exploring innovative ways for CBU students to access Purdue’s graduate engineering programs.

“Since CBU’s reputation is anchored in undergraduate engineering, a partnership of this magnitude with Purdue will further enhance CBU’s ability to educate the engineers of the future,” said Andrew Assadollahi, dean of the Gadomski School of Engineering at Christian Brothers University.

“Being able to offer CBU students a Purdue graduate engineering education is a major win for both institutions and the greater Memphis area!”

The partnership is a step towards building a new relationship between the two institutions, creating pathways for greater collaboration and opportunities for students, staff and faculty of both universities.

“We are very excited about this new venture,” said Dimitrios Peroulis, senior vice president for partnerships and online at Purdue and the Reilly Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. “This partnership will enhance the student experience and faculty collaboration for both Christian Brothers University and Purdue University. Ultimately, our goal is to empower both universities to meet the challenges of the future.”

This partnership is part of Purdue’s commitment to excellence at scale and CBU’s vision of equipping its students to make a lasting impact in the surrounding Memphis community and beyond. CBU was recently named one of the 2026 Best Colleges in the South by the Princeton Review.

Purdue’s portfolio of online master’s degrees in engineering programs was ranked #2 in the nation in 2026 by the U.S. News & World Report, with the civil, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering programs all earning the top spots. Its online master’s in Engineering Management and Leadership program is also ranked No. 1.
