The Pharmacy Technician Training Program has no prerequisites; it is open to all individuals who want to become certified pharmacy technicians.
Note: Please be aware of the pharmacy technician certification requirements for the state in which you will work. Each state has their own requirements which could include items such as being at least 18 years old, having a high school diploma or GED, passing the PTCE® certification exam, passing a criminal background check or other requirements.

Module 1: Role of the Pharmacy Technician/Federal Requirements
Learn the essentials of online learning, the pharmacy technician profession, relevant laws, and the various settings where technicians work. Build your understanding of pharmacy law, regulations, and different practice areas to lay a strong foundation.
Module 2: Order Entry/Processing
Develop skills in medication order processing and patient communication, with a focus on respiratory and cardiovascular medications. Learn how drugs interact in the body and how to process prescriptions efficiently.
Module 3: Compounding
Master nonsterile and sterile compounding techniques, as well as aseptic methods. Learn about medications for mental health, pain, and chronic conditions like diabetes. Enhance your calculation skills to ensure accurate prescription handling.
Module 4: Patient Safety/Quality Assurance
Focus on medication safety, pharmacy informatics, and supply chain management. Explore gastrointestinal treatments and dietary supplements, while learning to prevent medication errors and improve patient outcomes.
