Through Purdue University’s online programs, federal employees can access a wide variety of degree, certificate and skill-based programs aimed especially at working professionals looking to become a leader in their field or acquire new skills.
The Federal Government’s alliance with Purdue University gives you, your spouse, and your legal dependents the opportunity to take advantage of reduced tuition rates and receive specialized support. As a Purdue University student you will receive:
- A 5% tuition reduction on participating online degree programs (based on residency for in-state or out-of-state tuition)*
- A 10% tuition reduction on participating online Professional Development programs
- Access to academic advising and career counseling

- Current Federal Employees (Civil Service), spouses/dependents are eligible.
- Students must be currently employed by the Federal Government or be the legally married spouse or legal dependent (per IRS publication 501) of an employee.
Final determination of eligibility is made by Purdue University.
The terms of the partnership between Purdue University and Federal Alliance will be reviewed annually and are subject to change, termination, or cancellation at any time by either party via written correspondence.
- Follow these steps to learn more and apply:
- Request information – Request on the program webpage to speak to our online recruitment team.
- Learn more – Speak with a recruitment specialist to learn if the program is the right fit for you.
- Apply to Purdue – Submit your application through the online application system. (Check for specific admission and document requirements on the program webpage.)
- Receive and confirm admission.
- Contact fed-purdue@purdue.edu the tuition special rate no later than a week before the first day of the semester.
- The special rate will stay in effect until the end of the current academic year. Reverification will occur each July/August.
- Rates are not retroactive and will not apply to previous terms.
- Documentation received after the beginning of the semester is applied to the next subsequent semester.
- Once approved and the tuition special is applied, Purdue will send an email confirmation to the student. Please make sure you have received confirmation before the semester starts.

- Tuition special rate: Receive discount code from professional development team prior to registration.
- Register for the program.
- Confirmation Email will be sent upon registration.
